The Varsity Debate Competition of ALSA Local Chapter Universitas Diponegoro English Festival is considered the prestigious British Parliamentary competition nationally. The competition consists of two participants in each team who will compete with three other teams to convince the adjudicators of the debate motion given to them. The debate is split into two opposing sides: the proposition (or government) and the opposition. Each side is then further divided into the opening and closing teams, all four of which have two participants. Each participant will be given time to speak.
